0Bottle is a commercial glass bottle with a cork sleeve protector. Our team wanted to focus on the durability, and natural thermal insulative properties of cork and explore natural adhesives.
Cork, a material that possesses excellent thermal and electrical insulation, durability, and cushioning capacity, is fully recyclable and compostable. Given these properties, it has the potential to be repurposed in numerous ways.
We sourced our material in the form of wine corks from local restaurants. This was shredded into coarse and fine granules. Our goal was to combine this with a bio-based adhesive with cork to forms that would be durable, cushioning, and water resistant and able to withstand glassware.
